The Fink Family Welcomes a Baby Girl!


We love a Fink family photoshoot! Kayla, Eric and Sophie have been clients and close friends for pretty much the length of our career - going all the way back to when Katina was still K Reeves Photography, doing exclusively cosplay photos and senior photos on train tracks (I KNOW). Now baby number two has finally arrived - what a perfect way to start off 2026!


To celebrate baby Eloise making her debut, let's talk about her maternity session and a give quick review of the space at You're so Fancy Studio.


We arrived to the studio and walked up the stairs to find the Finks waiting patiently. Sophie, as always, was picture perfect and ready to get rolling, so we started snapping right away. The vintage sofa was set up in front of the most adorable pair of Christmas trees, wrapped gifts and tchotchkes, and she narrowed in on the tricycle that happened to be the perfect size for her. She's a little speed demon, and eventually she discovered the little tyke mobile with the mini Christmas tree tied to the top, too. Insanely adorable.


After a few photos of this chaos, Sophie started copying everything I do. So if I stand, she stands, if I'm on the floor angling up, she's on the her belly, too. She does this every time we get together, and I always forget about it until I see her again. It's so stinking cute, I wish I got a photo of her in action!


We took a break from toddler photos to get some baby bump pics with Kayla and Eric. Eloise is so loved already, and I can tell Sophie is going to be the best big sister. I was really impressed with the versatility of the main Christmas setup. We had the family sitting on the floor, standing in front of the mantle, and lounging on the sofa, but we also had mom and dad playing with the cars and the gifts, and tried to incorporate the sonogram photos in a few to make them more personal.


There's a lot of natural light in the studio - which is fantastic if you don't typically use flash (we do!) but we went into the session knowing Kayla wanted a really beautiful silhouette type image in front of the Christmas tree. We tried to block off the windows to get the shot, but there just wasn't any way to make the room dark enough in the middle of the day to really play with artificial light. If I had to pick one downside of the space, this would be it, but I think when you book the space, it's usually for a specific vibe and the tasteful curating, and for that the studio definitely delivers. There's also a bedroom set in the back with beautiful dark walls and a gold bed frame that I'd love to try out in a boudoir session. After the shoot, the owner reached out to let me know that blackout curtains are available on request for the main space!


Setting up the session was super easy. I follow You're so Fancy Studio on Instagram, and when I reached out via messages to see when they would be updating their Christmas schedule, they got back to me super quickly with a date. I followed up with Kayla to make sure we had a date and time that worked for all of us and then booked our hour in straight on the website. The owner of the studio reached out with information about entering and leaving the shoot the morning of our session via text, so everything was contactless and I didn't have to pick up the phone at all.


An hour came and went before we knew it! At the end of our shoot, we put everything back just the way we found it, including all of the excellent props, like the cookies and milk and the book of Santa stories and said goodbye to Kayla and Eric. We heard the new baby came not long ago and we can't wait for the newborn photos! Congratulations Fink Family and happy belated holidays.
